    Moree is ideally positioned along a major inland road / rail corridor, making it a logical transport hub for access to major capital cities and national ports. It has been identified as a Transport Hub in the Federal Government's Auslink Strategy and Moree Plains Shire Council has commissioned studies on the freight task of the region in anticipation of substantial infrastructure funding, being released for the Inland Rail.

    Rail
    Moree has daily passenger rail services to and from Sydney and is a key link in the proposed inland railway. Moree Plains Shire Council and business are building a business case for a link into Queensland and the ports of Brisbane and Gladstone. Seasonal grain and other freight currently go south to the ports of Sydney and Newcastle by rail.

    Moree Aerodrome is the largest and busiest regional airport in north-western New South Wales, handling regional and domestic aircraft with 15 flights per week between Moree and Sydney. The Aerodrome also has commercial agricultural and general aviation facilities, with activities including private charter, business travel, joy flights, medical transfers, freight and supports emergency services and small light aircraft.
